Airsoft Guns
These guns enable film productions to use highly weight and size realistic weapons for talent to interact with. Airsoft guns should be used when talent need to remove magazines, cock weapons and pull the trigger. Airsoft guns are either spring powered, electric (AEG) or gas (Gas Blow Back/ GBB) powered. Below are the available guns we offer by type:

Replica Firearms
Replica (aka dummy) guns are used as non functioning props that can be holstered or simply carried by talent or background extras. Foam or rubber replica guns are best used when stunts are planned that may resulting in dropping or damage to an Airsoft or other Replica Firearm. If talent need to enact a fight scene using Replica Firearms, rubber dummy guns are perfect to avoid any injury to the talent.

IMPORTANT: Firearms Law
Airsoft Guns: Under the Canadian Firearms Act, Airsoft guns with a muzzle velocity between 366 ft/sec and 500 ft/sec (with a 20g plastic BB) are not classed as firearms and are allowed for their use in movies.
Prop guns and rubber guns that closely resemble an existing make and model of firearm are classed as Replica Firearms but are still allowed to be used for film productions subject to storage and transportation rules and as long as the business provider has a Firearms Business Licence. Kolo Productions Inc is licenced by the Ontario Chief Firearms Office to supply replica firearms for theatrical and film productions..
A designated responsible adult Point of Contact must be identified as part of the production company or crew who will be responsible for the use, storage and handling of the replica firearms.
Permits: Productions may still be required to get a municipality film permit to use Airsoft guns on set and notify local police if the filming is in public view or on City property. It is the responsibility of the film production to ensure that all permits are applied for and the laws concerning use of Airsoft Guns or Replica Firearms are complied with.
